Almost all hearing instruments today are both digital and programmable. The difference between basic and sophisticated instruments is the flexibility and adaptation of the hearing instrument. We know that a person’s hearing needs are different in a quiet environment versus a noisy environment. Years ago, hearing instruments could only be adjusted using a volume wheel or a program button. Each time a hearing instrument user changed environments, he/she had to adjust his instruments individually. Sophisticated hearing instrument of today can now self-adjust. Now all you have is to listen!
