Fellowship-Trained Cataract and Refractive Surgeon
Thomas D. Bailey, M.D., graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor 0f Science degree and obtained his MD degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1978. Dr. Bailey trained at the U.S. Air Force Medical Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He later served with the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine Ophthalmology Service at Brooks Air Force Base and completed his residency at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Bailey was Board Certified in 1986 and was appointed a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (FAAO) in 1987 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 1995.
Dr. Bailey specializes in the diagnosis, management and surgical treatment of cataracts, as well as laser refractive surgery and glaucoma treatments including laser surgery, MIGS surgery and Ahmed drainage valves. In addition, Dr. Bailey performs Oculoplastic procedures such as blepharoplasties and eyelid repairs.
Dr. Bailey is a certified FAA commercial pilot and enjoys flying as often as possible. He is an avid fitness enthusiast who enjoys exercise as well as biking, scuba and snow skiing. He also enjoys music and has played several instruments.
Dr. Bailey currently resides in Albany, GA.
