
Cameron Schroeder, O.D.
Optometrist
Cameron Schroeder obtained his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Missouri–St. Louis in 2025 with a strong foundation in patient care, clinical training, and research. He earned his B.S. in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology from Western Illinois University after completing his A.S. at Indian Hills Community College.
With several years of clinical experience, Dr. Schroeder served as a Student Clinician at UMSL, managing a diverse patient base through comprehensive eye exams, corrective lens prescriptions, and individualized treatment plans. His dedication to community service includes providing eye exams to underserved children through Student Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity in Dallas, TX. He also gained early clinical exposure as a Student Technician at Vision Care Consultants.
Dr. Schroeder’s academic involvement extends to research, where he co-authored and presented a poster at the Heart of America Conference (Feb 2024) on the predictive value of pinhole testing in spectacle prescriptions. His externship training spans diverse care environments, including the Kansas City VA, Indian Health Services in Oklahoma, Carondelet Family Health Center, and private practices, equipping him with broad clinical insight.
Active in professional organizations, Dr. Schroeder is a member of the American Optometric Student Association, American Academy of Optometry, Alabama Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Student Association, and the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. He also represented UMSL as a Student Ambassador.
Dr. Schroeder is passionate about advancing visual health, bridging research with patient-centered care, and delivering accessible, quality optometric services. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors running, swimming and going to the beach.
