JoAnna Vrotsos, O.D.

Optometrist

Dr. Joanna Vrotsos is a skilled and passionate optometrist with diverse experience across community health, private practice, and corporate settings. She is especially dedicated to managing complex eye conditions, dry eye disease, and post-surgical care. Dr. Vrotsos values a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care and is excited to bring her expertise to Eye Center South.

Dr. Vrotsos attended California State Polytechnic University- Pomona and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While at Cal Poly, she was an avid member of the Pre-Optometry Club, Tri-Beta Honor Society, and Golden Key Honor Society. She went on to attend Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis Tennessee, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2019 with her Doctor of Optometry. Since graduating Optometry school, she has provided primary vision care to patients in Colorado, California and now Alabama. She relocated to Alabama to be near her extended family. Dr. Vrotsos’s primary eyecare experience will be an asset that complements our Ophthalmology services to provide comprehensive and seamless eyecare to our patients.

She has strong interests in medical optometry with an emphasis in ocular disease treatment and management. She prioritizes the importance of proper patient education, personalized care, technological advances, and community outreach. Outside of optometry, her interests include photography, antiquing, powerlifting, and spending time with family.
